Biologists have long noted the similarities between biological evolution and cultural evolution. Just as physical intercourse creates the genetic variety that lets species evolve, verbal intercourse mixes ideas in ways that help cultures evolve. America's exceptional success depends in part on its commitment to the free exchange of ideas. The rights enshrined in the First Amendment of the USA Constitution make it possible for Americans to debate, spread, and preserve ideas in an open marketplace where the fittest survive.

American institutions that once championed First Amendment rights now pay them mere lip service while imposing political correctness on the population. Attitudes towards conception are even worse. Campuses host conferences for presenting scientific research, but the moment a researcher conceives of a new technology, protests erupt on the campus quad. Disdain for physical conception is even greater. Municipal politicians who would never dream of excluding couples with non-procreative lifestyles will openly oppose home construction on the grounds that they don't want more children in their public schools. Without homes to move into, couples cannot start families. Restrictive zoning and building laws make erecting homes so difficult that no amount of Viagra will help. I started Intercourse and Conception to fight this trend. I hope that reading it will encourage others to grow and produce something seminal.
